I guess I'm not getting much done this QVW but am enjoying looking at everyone's projects. Got kicked in the stomach with some sad family stuff so just can't get much of anything done. Keep on stitching.

Sorry to hear some are having sad times this weekend.

I have managed to get my next unpieced border on to bring the top to 71 ¼ " x 89 ½ " so far. (I will put it on the bed to see how much larger I need to make it) We are having a hot day, over 30* C so glad I got my walk in this morning before it was too hot.

Just beautiful, TBug... Love how you built it out from the center, like a Round Robin quilt. (I bet you are good at those too.)

Awesome progress everyone, love the pictures of what is going on there are some blue ribbon projects here.

My weekend got derailed a bit by the nice weather, a run to Home Depot today after church and yesterday after a walk to our local farmers market in the morning. Once we had the stuff from HD, needed to help hubby in the yard, he moved some grapes we are just starting and started a few low retaining walls in our yard to help terrace the yard and make it safer. He just finish them this afternoon. Yesterday was so nice after dinner we went for another walk since he was getting board so I put down the stitching again. Had a nice fire in the pit last night and was able to stitch some after 9pm. I finished this one today and starting on DD's now, I have 2 more to stitch the binding by hand and then need to put the labels and patches on the last 5 of them. 3 of the quilts are with their new owners.

Here are the first one I gave to my baby brother after it was washed, each one will have different patches. The first photo has more realistic colors, the one below is a little light.

Also each top center square is a baby picture of each child with dad.

Happy stitching today and Prayers to those that need them!

Even tried adding a name. Love it! I wanted it to be very subtle. Worked out perfectly....

I like the way the center square is cut kinda wonkie.
Just wondering if there was some special measurement for it. I guess any same cut will do it nicely.
i used the Sizzix die for tesselating pinwheels. If you start with a square and cut a diagonal that instead
of going from corner to corner goes about an inch from the corner diagonally to about an inch from the opposite corner you would get something similar.

hope that helps.

Dedemac, love the memory quilts... are they made with your Dad's shirts? Very special!

Cindi, who wouldn't LOVE that VW bug quilt? Cindy is very lucky to have you for a friend. It's awesome.

Faintly, I love the granny square quilt, esp. your 'no waste' shortcut method. I have some of your fabrics in my own stash... and I want to make one of these! It would be a really nice one to hand quilt, cross hatching all the boxes.
