Never done this before. One of my guilds at my summer/fall home said yes to a request for 125 quilts for vets by 12/12! Got 8 tops done yesterday thanks to three layer cakes and backing fabric packed up for my son to take to the workshop contact. Four more to go to finish my commitment. I can't be there so this is my contribution.
Since I have transitioned to my winter/spring home (with son and DIL) and I am the "cutter" for the bee here, the scrap donations have piled up monstrously. I have them to process as well. My growing UFO pile is about to topple over so one or two big things need to move off of that. My DIL is running a half marathon out of town and I am dog sitting so I am definitely in!

I love VQW, there is always such a wonderful variety of projects being worked on. It seems like each one is better than the last.
Whoo Hoo! My blue quilt is under the needle:-) It is so exciting for me to start this process.

Love the pictures of all the projects, thanks for sharing. I managed to piece a backing and some batting yesterday so hope to sandwich the lap quilt later today. It is the colour block rail fence leader/ender that I started and posted about before.

I love seeing vintage machines at work, TSCWeaves! Such a lovely sampler too. This morning I sewed the borders on my Fall sampler, then ironed the top and backing. I'll start basting it after lunch while my babies nap. Nap time = sewing time!

I finished up the round for the ribbon quilt and then decided I needed to do something different for a while. A few days ago (while looking for my Ipod) I found two Quick Curve rulers that I had forgotten I bought. So today I'm going to use the mini one and play with sewing curves for a while.

This is my favorite... a Christmas one (shown before quilting):

These both are 48 block layouts (6x8) so you would start with 48 10" squares. The quilt comes out nearly as big as the top of a double bed.
