Virtual Quilting Weekend -- September 2 to 5, 2016
#22
Thanks for hosting this again! I need to prepare a few hand appliqué bear blocks as I just finished my 4th block last night. I hope to work on my McKenna Ryan owl quilt again, just need to make myself pick it up again.... will also have my two grand doggies today so that might put a kink in things, but the big doggie will go home tonight... and the little puggy loves to sit on my knee at the sewing machine. Here are my 3rd and 4th bear blocks that I've been working on while camping.

My goal for this weekend is to finish organizing my scraps. 7 bins down, 2 to go, but the two biggest. Then......must clean house. Then back to quilting the Diamond Star log cabin. And finally, this month's $5 question let club blocks--the meeting is next Friday.

I can sew 2 of the four days. So, I plan to put binding on a lap quilt for my guild. Put buttons on a few pair of pants for my DH. Quilt a UFO lap quilt on my long arm. If I have time, finish that UFO top. And in between continue to work on my 2 1/2" log cabin blocks. And the two days I can't sew lurk on this site and see what others are doing. Happy sewing everyone.

Thank you, Heather, for hosting this VQW again! I was at a Retreat last week-end; I finished 4 tops there -- now have to piece some backs for the LA'er and get them delivered. Been cutting up scraps with my DIL's Accucutter. What fun! Hard not to stop and put some blocks together (so hard I've actually done it!! Ha Ha!) Gramajo -- good luck with your knee replacement on Tuesday! Had both mine done 3 years ago and would have done it 10 years earlier had I known what it was like to be pain free. Will be checking back to see everyone's progress!!

Hey, I am in. Loading a king size quilt onto Grace frame (after sewing backing together). I have heard of people that can load a quilt in 15 minutes, I am not there yet. This will take me a couple of hours I'm guessing. Have a great weekend, Julie

I'm in too! I loved participating in the last VQW. (I finished my kit project soon after that -- the Valori Wells "Colored Happy" quilt; I hoped to post a photo but haven't found a good place to photograph it yet).
I'm now working on another pattern (Libs Elliott's "Out of Step," which I'm modifying to a slightly larger size). I just started sewing and squaring my cut pieces yesterday so I have lots to do this weekend. Can't wait!

Sewing some of the weekend, 2 storm days off from school here in FL so got caught up on laundry, mending and made a huge pot of pasta Fagioli. Now to finish my son's fish wall hanging and start on the next project on my list! Need to go to my DGS's football game (weather's too bad for school, but not football?), grocery shop, church and host our first Notre Dame game Sunday as well-packed holiday weekend!
