Wal-Mart is now selling fabric online. www.walmart.com

My daughter called yesterday to tell me this story: She asked the lady who was working in a newly re-installed Wal-Mart fabric department to help her find bobbins for her Singer sewing machine. The lady asked, "What is a bobbin?" After my daughter explained what a bobbin is, the lady said,"Oh, is it one of those round silvery things?"

I had a similar thing happen to me at a JoAnn store. I asked where the sequins were and the girl said, "We don't sell games here." She thought I was talking about Sequence. When I tried to explain what sequins are (small, round sparkly things that you sew or glue on clothes or decorations), she had to call and ask someone. She had never heard of them. Is that possible?

I had the cashier at Big Lots ask me if I sewed and could I make her a shirt. I said I don't do that kind of sewing now, I just like to quilt. She said is that where you use two of those things and yarn? Uh No it's not. The guy taking my tables out to the car starting laughing and said I can't believe you don't know what sewing is. She just looked at us!

Produce and meats I seldom purchase at Wal Mart. I would rather pay the slightly higher prices at Safeway or Frys. At least I know its good. Canned items, and boxed you cannot go wrong with though, but you do need to watch the expiration dates! Luckily our closest Wal Mart is fairly new and it is very clean and bright. However, I did notice a lack of stock even in the grocery area, the selection seemed to dwindle down to just a few brands. I have noticed that changing as well.
I find this thread entertaining. My kids have a joke about crackers, cookies, ect. that we buy at Wal-Mart. Quite often they are quite broken up in the package so my kids think they are "playing catch" with the products.

We are very fortunate to have never lost our fabric department here. We also have two very knowledgable attendants there.
