The walls of my sewing room are the color of brown paper grocery bags...because that's what I wallpapered with!! It actually comes out looking like tooled leather. I can go with a darker wall color like that because I have double windows on three of the walls, so there's plenty of natural light. Once the whole room is done, the walls will be paper bag, the woodwork is Cloud White (ceiling white, too), and accessories will be black or neutrals. I find the white/cream/beige/brown/black combo very relaxing.

I'd pick a color you look good in and makes you feel good. I have paneling that I hate, but, at least it is a brown I kinda like. The other room I can sew in is now a dirty yellow...really needs painting. Will probably use a peach color.

I always chuckle at the idea that colors interfer with quilt colors. Just where are these quilts going to be put, in a trunk? Color is all around us and light and shade and clouds and sun, florecent and incandecent, and lets not forget the Purity of the Ott Light for pure color.

Pick your favorite color and love it. The people you give quilts to aren't going to go out and buy an Ott light to look at the quilt under. They are going to use regular old fashioned light in a regular old fashioned painted room! I make my quilts right where they are going to be used. In a room full of color!

The best light is from above and we are surrounded by color everywhere! Isn't It wonderful!

    peace :D

My favorite color is blue so I painted it 2 shades of blue. The top part is a light blue and the bottom is a medium blue. They are separated by a white chair rail. I just love it.
Paint it whatever color you like.

My new quiling shed has two walls that are "Apricot Nectar" and two lighter walls that are "Venetian Stucco" (which is mixed with the same colors in different proportions). These are both bright, but warm colors that make me happy and I know I'm going to love being in it!
