Here is hoping for better quality fabrics at Wal-Mart.

    :)
I agree it is true!!! My manager at Walmart told me they are not doing away with anymore because so many people complained. They are cutting back some but she said she is allowed to keep one whole row of calicos/fun fabrics/broadcloth/etc all on the bolt and several other sections but they are getting rid of other parts of the fabric section. It isn't as much as we had but it won't be totally gone. I hate that they no longer sell the $1 a spool thread. I remember when it was 2 for $1. But no more. Now I have to buy the more expensive thread.

I never had any luck using those inexpensieve spools of thread on my sewing machines. They seem to break alot. Altho some of the cone threads are as inexpensieve, for what you get . Only I haven't had a lot of breakage with those.

Because we shop often in he fabric department we have gotten to know the staff- we appreciate their efforts and they appreciate our knowing them by name and asking how they are doing especially if they had shared of a rough time they were going through. It's a brief respite to slow down and actually connect with people in a setting where few really do

I tell you what we can do!!! Watch for thread and needles to go down on sale really cheap, holler at each member and tell them and we can pick up the kind and color each one wants and put it in a padded envelope and it shouldn't cost too much. I can't think if this is a good idea or not. Help me out here

Maybe that wil help save their stores. I know I'm about ready to jump ship and shop other stores as a protest for their stopping carrying fabrics and other items I want. I'll support their department if they put it back. Not the precut pieces or the fat quarters - I'll buy the yardages.

I hope we get one because that is where I purchased most of the fabric for my charity projects.

I tried to delete one of my post that posted twice but it didn't work. I'm sorry I tried everything and just couldn't delete it.
