    Here is the block for those HST's Do a 5 by 5 row placement with 1.5 or 2 inch sashing. Try a red sashing. Have fun! Luann

    I'd be inclined to make hourglass blocks out of them. That would result in slightly smaller triangles, too.

    Check Rose Smith's website (Ludlow Quilt and Sew, http://www.ludlowquiltandsew.co.uk/Q...Directory.html). She regularly posts little tutorials and most of them use mostly HSTs. Sometimes she also shows different effects that you get by arranging the blocks in different ways. Enjoy!

    You could also do the "broken dishes" pattern. Here is a red/cream version I did for my granddaughter. It's all HSTs! Just turn them in the different directions to get the pattern.

    FYI... there are 4 HSTs in each block. If you look at one of the corners you can see how to turn the HSTs to make each block.

    Have you looked at Quiltville? Bonnie's patterns use quite a few HSTs. Here's the link --->

    http://quiltville.com/index.html

    Also, here's a pattern I found at About.com's quilting section --->

    http://quilting.about.com/od/quiltpa...lt_pattern.htm

    For your question as to whether or not you should add another color, I would say maybe as a narrow inner border. It would just depend on what you do with the HSTs. I'm anxious to hear what you do with these little gems (I love HSTs & green!). Please let us know, OK?
