I am quilting a Warm and Natural batting about 6" apart. Will this be enough for a quilt that may get a lot of machine washing, or should I add more quilting?

I'm trying to do a simple grid pattern to get the quilt done quickly, and just started to wonder if it would hold up well to washes.

I think that's fine for Warm and Natural.

Yes, my Warm and Natural says to quilt at least every ten inches. You are fine with six inches, for sure!!

Warm and natural says 10 inches apart, so I agree with Prism99. I use W&N all the time and usually quilt 4 to 6 inches apart and it holds up just fine. I'm a little afraid to go 10 inches, but that is what they say.

I used warm and natural on a lap quilt for my daughter and it is quilted at 10 inches. It is washed very often and is holding up just fine.

That's what I wanted to know, Trennag... from someone who has quilted it far apart and washed it. I know what the batting package says, but I don't trust that as much as someone who has actually washed one themselves.

I actually chickened out once I got it quilted in a 6" grid, and added some diagonal lines bisecting the grid. So now my quilting is closer and I feel a lot better about giving this as a gift to a young couple. Better safe than sorry.

You can quilt WnN up to 10 inches apart. I think it will be fine.
