Wool batting is the easiest to quilt for me.

It's one of those "try it and see if you like it" scenarios. Warm and Natural (or its companion Warm and White) is my favorite but I do not hand quilt.

Use warm and natural all the time.

I do admire the hand quilter who can successfully hand quilt warm and natural or warm and white batting. It feels like thick felt to me. Machine quilting is ok with the W&N
For my chairity quilts I use the Quilter's Dream in Request loft. My quilt guild likes the next step up as it has a little more thickness to it.

Yes, I received a 40 yard roll of W&N in the mail today from Joann's using a 50% coupon. It's great stuff and is my preference for quilting.

I hand quilt and I use Warm and Natral all the time. I wash it before I sandwich it ina quilt. It seams softer that way and it needles very well.

I have used Warm and Natural/White from the second quilt I made and on. I love it - I handquilt and I don't any problems with it. Love it - buy it by the roll with JoAnn's 50% coupon.

Does it shrink much? The reason I ask is I made a "Barb's Bargello" and didn't prewash the fabric. I want to use a cotton batting-something along these lines, and will send the top out to be quilted. I don't usually prewash and now I wonder how much it may "pucker", which I don't mind some but don't want a lot.

    Makes sense?

I am currently taking a handquilting class and the instuctor took us through different battings. She recommends either Hobbs 80/20 or wool batting for hand quilting. Warm and Natural is great for machine quilting but it's a challenge to handquilt it.
