I never feel guilty buying more. If I didn't buy quilting stash I'd just spend the money on something else.

I wanted to put all of the batiks together, the cottons together and fabric for sewing clothes together. Well, while in the process of sorting...I kept coming across bags that held complete quilt kits or fabric for quilts with the pattern that I had picked out. I found 16 different quilt kits plus two quilt tops! (I'm going to take a wild guess that I MUST enjoy the planning process more than the actual sewing process...or at least this is what the evidence is pointing to...but I LOVE the sewing process...could it be that I just LOVE it all a little too much?) These are complete, ready to make with the patterns and most of them even had the quilt backing with them! Four were cut out and three were partially sewn! I also found the pattern and fabric for a new apron, the pattern and fabric for a bow-tuck purse, and the fabric for three different table toppers! So....I am banning myself from the fabric/quilt shops until I have completed at least half of these items!

I will not buy fabric, I will not buy fabric, I will not buy fabric!

I am not a fabriholic...I can quit anytime....I will not buy fabric!

Let us know how that works for you.....

I have at least 10 stacks of fabric with pattern atop waiting but keep shopping for new projects then have ADHD deciding what to do, which leads to more fabric. It doesnt' help me much that I have a JoAnnes, Hancocks and 2 LQS within 10 miles of my house

I have that type of ADHD TOO!! LOL! I just posted a topic about the difficulty of deciding what to do next!

I could say the same about cutting through scraps. I set a day aside to do just that .. cut. What happened is I couldn't cut some of the fabric because of warnings I'd received here. (Not complaining just took your advice) Sooo, I rough cut some stuff. After putting together 8 quilt sets, 3 table runners, lots of mug rugs, I just put the roller blade away. I walked out of my sewing studio and realized I hadn't put much of a dent in what was in there. So much for cutting up scraps .. I'd just made a lot more work for me, but I love it just the same. And to think I just ordered more fabric. Whats wrong with me?? Oh..I'm a quilter. Hey that's good!

I love you post. I spent days folding all my fabric. It looked beautiful, but I was over whelmed with how much I have. I don't dare buy anymore until I use some of what I have. In the last 6 months I "inherited" 2 huge portions of other people's stash.

OMG being an AA member I love this and I hope Tammy you don't mind if I use it. I keep all my fabrics in 5 drawer legal laterals. The top drawers are devoted soley to kits that have all the fabric and pattern ready to go. Last count there were about 25. I haven't told my daughter but there's another bag under the table with 4 or 5 more. She estimated that I can make 200+ quilts without ever going to the store.
