    Well! I joined the message board and posted my first message about 10 minutes ago. In that time, I've had several experts comment and all are in agreement. Thanks quilting board. I think I'm gonna like this place. I'll get started right away and I will wash after!

    I think I'll hand quilt each hexagon. I'll bind the edges just as they are though I'm a little nervous about the sharp, 60 degree angles. Any advice?

    I was given an old GFG top with tiny hexes, 1/8 in seams, and a little wonky. An Amish lady quilted it for me, in the ditch, pulling in any wonkiness as she quilted. It turned out to be beautiful. I couldn't have done it so well.

    What a great quilt top, love the arrangement. Not a good idea to wash an unquilted top. My mom did once and it was a mess on the edges.
