I used soluble thread in the machine trapunto on my daughters DWR. I was great! A hint: I save the dessicant gel packs that come in some packaging/pill bottles. Then I make sure that I seal the thread and bobbins in a zip loc with one or two. Moisture is the enemy of soluble thread! Also: be sure not to let it sit too long once stitched into the quilt before going over with the quilting thread. It may degrade and break up.
