I prewash somethings depending on the colour of it... but never if I bought it as a kit....I did that once and will never again. They had fussy cut a block for the kit and when I washed it I had to adjust everything because it wasn't the size anymore.

I have been to classes where the teacher tells you to pre-wash everything and then others that they say don't really I think it is all up to you.

Doesn't the fact that the block changed size when you washed it say something about the fabrics ??????

My sister's quilt is the only one i've made from start to finish. I did not pre-wash, but did wash it after i was finished...Delicate, short wash, gentle rinse and hung outside to dry - no dryer...

My aunt's quilt, i also washed, but since she made it in the 50s, and it was a scrap quilt, i assume it was prewashed. Again, gentle wash and hung out to dry.
