i don't prewash anything.

i treat batiks with retayne before use - thats all i ever do.

I don't wash - sometimes I cut a strip, measure it, soak it in hot water in the microwave for 1 min or 2. If it fades or shrinks I usually don't use it.

I do not feel the need to wash something that is not dirty. I might wash some quilts after they are done, but that is just in case some cat hair managed to get on them.
