I wash them, plop them in the dryer & pull them out damp. Pull them/block them to the shape I want & leave them to finish drying. Seems to work the best for me when I have used the warm & natural batting.....If I've used needlepunch, they don't look quite so "loved" when they come out of the dryer.

i think you are all wrong!!it is called pressing flattening and smoothing when it is pertaining to quilting--ironing is what you do to clothes and i hate that ---but will happily smooth quilting fabrics for hours????!!!
