    I bought 4 yds of insul-bright, but nowhere on the outside strip says which way the foil goes???? Towards the heat or towards your hands??? Anyone help me out on this??

    If I remember correctly the reflective side goes towards the side that will be hot, so that it can reflect the heat back to the pot or pan.

    i hate the directions. both sides are bright white and shiny. anyway, lay it one way inbetween some fabric and place your iron on it. then test beneath it. if you're making pot holders you want the heat not to come through.
    if making a casserole carrier, you want the heat to stay inside. just depends on which way you want to use it.

    It is hard to see which is the shiniest side...I can only tell by looking at the cut edge...and yes, the shiny side goes towards the heat.
