Well, someone beat me to telling you about the quilt store...we were just there last Monday to welcome my first GGS to the world! Used to live in Summerville, a lifetime ago...it was beautiful then and it's still gorgeous although a tad too busy for me! When we lived there, it was a sleepy little Southern town...
Have a good time while there and tell your GS thank you for his service! My husband was a lifer with 31 years in the USN...so I really appreciate those who decide to serve as well.
Your quilt is beautiful....I know he will enjoy it! Thanks for sharing.

Welcome to Charleston! Sorry the weather hasn't been the best, it's usually beautiful this time of the year.
Your quilt is gorgeous! Your DGS will treasure it for a lifetime. Congratulations to him and best wishes for the future.
PPQ is great, isn't it? I live far away from it, but try to get up there every couple of months. They are such charming ladies, so willing to help. I have a Janome Jem Gold that I use for classes because my Bernina is SO heavy. I needed a zipper foot for it for a class and ordered one online. WRONG. It didn't fit. I called them to see if they had one because they sell the machines. Sue, the lady who answered the phone, said they were all out of them due to one of their sewing classes. I told her my dilemma and she said she would take one from one of their models and hold it for me until I could get out there. Now that is customer service!
Oh, be sure to have some Red Velvet cake, too! That's my favorite!

His smile shows how much he appreciates all your creative hard work on this quilt. It's beautiful and he's a lucky young man to receive such beautiful gift from a proud grandmother! Add my thanks to him for his service!

Congratulations to your DGS o on his great accomplishment! The quilt is beautiful. I visit PP&Qs frequently as I live in Summerville. The 30 years I have lived here, I have seen great changes from a sleepy, lovely Southern town into a rushing, lovely city! We love it, though. We will be spending a week at Folly Beach in 2 weeks and are hoping the weather gets back to normal ( what ever that is any more)!! LOL!
