    Default Wedding quilt patterns

So I am thinking of doing a remake of my grandmother's quilt... which I can a wedding ring pattern, just recently I was told it was an orange peel pattern that a lot of people use ... any thoughts on this?

Do you mean to use a wedding ring pattern to make an orange peel quilt? If your pattern pieces fit together properly and include seam allowances it should work. I'd test on scrap fabric. Let us know how it goes & we'd love to see some pics.

picture of your frandmother's quilt might help us answer your question. a orange peel quilt pattern & a wedding ring quilt pattern (double wedding ring) are, IMHO, too dissemilar to have pattern pieces that are interchangeable

Two different patterns for me too. Have seen one pattern for double wedding ring that I actually entertained the thought of trying, but I put it way in the back of my mind for now because I know I will have to be totally dedicated to do it and I'm not there yet! Have recently seen the orange peel and want to try it too. That's whats wrong with looking on here all the time, constantly see something you want to try, before you can, you see something else! It's a vicious cycle!

Yes, posting a photo would have helped. The Orange Peel quilt is certainly a lot easier than a DWR.

Here is a different version I fell in love with. I will confess I did not make it, it was an eBay purchase. The centers are patterned and the rings are white.

That's definitely a DWR quilt, but Jenny Doan on MSQC has an easy orange peel quilt and so does Eleanor Burns on Quilt in a Day.
