Both my daughters iron that way...it really is easier. I used to tell them they were doing it backwards...then I googled it and saw more pictures of it the way they were doing it! I can't seem to change.

I did that once in a sewing class and the instructor quickly said never do that. So in class, I never did, but at home my board is backwards most of the time so I can use the width. Seems like if it wasn't meant to be, the board wouldn't have been made that long and wide in the first place.
