I have 4 panels of orca whales. This in itself is not big enough to make into a quilt. I need some ideas on how to make the 4 panels into a quilt. Im putting them together with a water fabric and I have some other ideas. I was thinking of using batik, orange or yellow for the sun in the sky , the the whale panels ,then on the bottom, dark blue water fabric for the ocean. I need ideas. thanks

Perhaps you could use the 4 panels as an attic window (I think thats what its called) the one where it looks like the window is 3 dimensional, then use your water colours and oranges as borders

What about adding spacer blocks like half squares, flying geese, pinwheels, etc? Use a bit of graph paper and place your panels in a grouping and then you can see what fillers you need to add. It will give your eyes places to stop as you look at the panels.

Here's an idea of what I was talking about fillers. I did not make this first one. It was a round robin group project and then finished by one of the group for the owner. The major blocks were made by the group and then filler blocks were added to make a completed quilt.
