What about this fabric for an OBW

k3n, I love the way you used yours as a background! I'm going to make a "practice" OBW out of some other fabric. Then I'll decide whether to use this fabric for one or go ahead and do something else. This would make beautiful border and/or accent fabric. I bought it on sale some time ago...just because I fell in love with it!

In the first book about OBW's, Maxine Rosenthal shows a quilt that is made from a fabric in shades of rust with even less variation than yours. It is a beautiful quilt, but very subtle. I say go for it.

I too am hesitant on it ... though agree that in the OBW book, there's a couple of quilts made with fabrics that would be against the "rules"!!
Get your mirrors out and take a look at it and see if it will give you the look you like.
It's going to be more subtle and less variance ... depends what you like!!
