What's the point of a bed runner? During the winter, I almost always keep an extra cover at the foot of the bed . . . but it can be pulled into service, if needed. It just seems a bit silly, to me, to have a "pretend" extra cover.

I completely understand how in areas with colder weather this wouldn't be useful. I have plans though to make several for these reasons: 1) we have a king but I have no desire or time to make king sized quilts [bucket list too long and I work full time, 2] 2 dogs who like to get up on the end of the bed if you're in there during the day and bed runners are more easily laundered, 3] living in Florida I prefer a solid thinner bed covering with bed runners and pillows to reflect seasons, holidays or the desire to change color scheme. That's my plan now to get going on it!
