What can i bring on a plane...quilting wise?

I just got back from a trip to Spain and Italy. No problem with my small stork scissors in my carryon or a container of needles. However, about 4 yrs. ago I did have my scissors taken away in Ireland. Travel within the country here has given me no problems with small scissors, however, I would take one you could lose without wanting to cry.

Never mind that a broken wine bottle (and they let anyone bring on wine bottles purchased in duty free shops...) would be a better weapon than any pair of nail clippers or small scissors...

I have a small round disk that is designed to cut thread, but the cutting part is hidden inside the metal disk. It is attractive enough to be worn on a chain or lanyard of some kind. There are several indentations on the sides of the disk, and you just put the thread through there. Not only is it not dangerous or threatening, most people would have no clue as to what it is!

Hi, I was allowed to bring my quilt and quilting needle on board, but half way to Washington, I lost my needle. When my seatmate stood up ready to leave, lo and behold there was my needle on her seat. I don't know who was luckier, the stranger or myself. Have a great trip and check with the airline to find out what they allow: scissors,needles etc.
