    Yes they are. A few years ago I bought one at a Dollar store, by the time I realized how useful it was the store was out of them. For a dollar I could have had some spares and a few to give to quilty friends as little gifts.

    Here is a thought...
    buy rectangle magnets and glue to end of
    a yardstick and gift those.

    I LOVE the idea of getting a diamond so you can TRADE it for a long arm.... now, that's strategy...
