Was browsing and my curiosity led me to you. I was wondering about the "Layer Cake". I'm from Lewiston, Maine living in Massachuetts. I go back every so often to visit relatives in Auburn and Boothbay Harbor. Love the annual Pine Tree quilt show in Augusta. It's a geat destination while camping in Poland Springs.
I will watch for your posts and study your blog. Nice to meet you.

I am doing the Pinwheel Quilt-sew-along...

I tried putting a one link that would show all of them, but that didn't work so well....

Its actually a really easy pattern, once you do the first couple blocks you will realize that all the blocks are just a small variation on the same basic premise. But a layer cake offeres alot of versatility.

Here is another pattern I did using the a layer cake...

This is a fun quilt pattern that I plan to do...You actually make TWO lap quilts using one layer cake. I have the pattern, I am just hesitant to cut into my layer cake....

I really like that Patisserie Stars quilt! And you used a layer cake for that? Was it difficult? An online pattern or a bought one?

There are lots of new pattern books for Layer Cakes, Nickles (also known as Charm packs), turnovers, honeybuns. etc. I have 4 now. Love the fast way you can put them together. Moda Bake Shop has free patterns too and you can google layercake patterns etc, and get other sites.
