What causes birds nests on quilt back? (picture included)

Does this always happen you hit a peak and turn back the other way(sorry, I'm not very good at explaining it, hope you are understanding)? I didn't catch what you are quilting on, but maybe it could the back lash on the bobbin thread.

I dont know the answer, I have slot of problems with FM, and really want a 820, to solve all my problems LOL!
but anyway when I was having problems with my machine someone suggested bobbin washers to help this problem, I haven't tried them because I have never found them for sale in my area but they sound like they would fix this sort of thing. Maybe someone else knows more about them

I always bring my bobbin thread to the top before I begin quilting, though this is the top thread tangling on the bottom. This is happening long after starting but I can't tell if there's a pattern to when or where it happens.

Is it possible to put a Magic Genie Bobbin Washer in your bobbin case?
Might sound silly, but I had an unbelieveable improvement after putting them in my vertical bobbin machines. I posted about them the other day and put a picture in there.
These were some old placemats where I was practicing tiny filler designs in between the print designs on the front - so the backs don't look so hot.
The bobbin washers happened to come in the mail while I was playing with this, so I popped one in. All those teeny little thread nests were gone, instantly. The placemat on the right was the first one I did after getting the washer put in. I haven't taken any pictures lately, but the improvement is even greater on big swoop-y designs - feathers and swirls and stuff.
