    Default what is a "chip"?

I was reading the current Quilt Maker magazine, it is their anniversary edition, and they were talking about how things have changed over the years.

At one point, they were talking about pre-cuts popularity or when it began (don't have the mag with me-sorry). And they said "chips, jelly rolls.....".

Well, I know jelly rolls, honey buns, turnovers, layer cakes, charms, dimes, nickles, dessert rolls and probably a few more, but I have never heard of "chips"! What is that?

Or, maybe my cold/flu brain just misunderstood what they said>>>>>

    http://www.northcott.net/newspdf/Rol...psandChips.pdf
This is what Northcott calls their 5" squares from the Stonehenge collection, actually they call theirs "Strips and Chips"
which is the 2 1/2" Jelly Roll and the 5" Charm Squares.

I am so lost... Most of those I have not heard of. Technology terms have hit the quilting world.

Chips are potato or grain based snacks, available in a variety of flavors. My current favorite is pizza flavored Pringles!!!! Hehehehe

I was lost once you hit "dimes, nickels and dessert rolls".
