Ha! I love your answer!
The trending colors in my quilts are what I have in my stash! Just a sassy response. I would say the "warm" colors. I see even in the modern quilts more of the warmer color tones. On the other hand I am seeing more quilts in soft "beach colors" like sand and variations of blue/turquoise/purple with pops of orange and green. Humm. Those are cool colors, but they remind me of warm beaches.

I wonder if the trending process is because of extra time spent at home.
Way before the covid situation, I changed out a room with new drapes and a fresh paint color. It's an easy change for me with big results. Switch out the dining room chair covers and pillows for another new look. I have always been inspired with jacobean-sized floral prints in tropical colors.
Looking at the daily deal this morning and I want to change the slip covers on the front sofa to the black floral print with the big pink peonies set. According to the stash in my closet, the quilts will be bright and tropical this year. No gray or yellow combo quilts either which I never liked.

I agree that whatever takes our minds off of covid. With the promise of a vaccine farther into the future than we hoped and the news of variants plus the sometimes gloomy winter weather we need to find ways to enjoy our colorful hobby. New colors and patterns are always fun to view and putting my colorful scraps into clear containers brightens up my sewing area.

Seems the color of the year is anything opposite what the other company says it is for other companies. We have so far this year's color of the year as vintage blue, aegean teal, blues, yellow, ultimate gray, jumpsuit orange, aqua, urbane bronze, muted reds, muddy green, warm whites, and even pastels. So it's who you rely on for the source. I like Kona's color of the year, a beautiful blue.

I like to see what's trending, then make my own decision. I look like a ghost in yellow and love it as an accent. Grey is always trending, even have a whole shelf devoted to it. Any shade of green is "in" for me all the time.
My stash is coherent because I stick to my style. Then there's an odd ball- "what was I thinking". And it's a struggle to find other fabrics to go with it.
Fads come and go. My style is consistent.

I keep seeing new collections announced by their creators (on Instagram and social media)- and so many of them are *still* rainbow sets. Don't get me wrong, I do love a good rainbow collection, I'm just surprised how many new collections are similar. It's funny, but you really can "date" a quilt by the color scheme many times, right? The "late 2019/20/21 look" is definitely rainbow inspired!

I have so much fabric that I don't dare start another color trend. I have been using what I have but I still don't see my stash depleting. My granddaughter has her bedroom decorated with greys and I have been collecting FQ's of greys for about a year so maybe if grey is a new trend I can get some greys with different patterns in the fabrics.
