My sewing room is yellow with white trim..white drop in ceiling. peel and stick 6" tile floor and lots and lots of tube lighting because it's in the bsmt...So when I turn the lights on it is bright no dark or shadow places...Having the 6" tile floor lets you measure blocks easy..and with roller chair you can scoot around easy......Also I have two "old" micro0wave carts I have a cutting mat on one and a ironing pad on the other, being on wheels they go where I scoot them..With the shelf under them for fabric or iron water,starch, etc.....Place a towel rack fastened to the side of each for my pressing cloth or sleeve board and handle to pull it where I need it....

I'm just about to start redoing my sewing room. Right now the walls are covered with a very busy wallpaper which I don't care for. It was that way when we bought the house. My plan is to remove the wallpaper from one wall and paint it a soft sage or seafoam green. I'm thinking this will allow me to see if I like the new color and one wall is all I have energy for at the moment. But, hey, it's a start!

A very soft gray/lavender called Chicago Sky. Love it! When I repainted a couple of years ago I had the same color mixed.

As my sewing room is in the basement, I chose a creamy yellow to brighten it up. The former owner had even painted the ceiling rafters "BLACK" so they got painted white. What a difference that made. Then I had lots of ceiling lights installed as I have only 2 small windows on one wall to bring in any light from outside. As my head is usually buried at a machine, it doesn't seem as bad as it may sound. All my walls are basically covered with pegboard to hold my threads, rulers, etc. My shelving is white so again I've tried to lighten up the area. Its still a basement but its doable.

We live in a house that was built in 1918, except for the addition, and the room I sew in used to be the dining room, back when dining was a big deal and we didn't have any other room to 'dine' in..
Then it was the toy room for the kids and then the puppy whelping room.
Now my sewing room, it's painted a dark navy blue (yeah, I'm going to be a bit different here) BUT, there's very little wall space not covered by ceiling to floor oak cabinets
Yo be honest, I chose that color because it was easier to leave the border, put some wood trim under it, and paint to match.
I want to make something 'quilty' for the top of the curtains, but haven't decided on a pattern yet
Sewing is my calm in a hectic, to me, life. A darker blue adds to that.
Plus the color goes well with the wall hanging/afghan I won at my first national with my first show dog, which is in the living room that is connected.

I used the same custard cream by Behr and love it! The trim is off white in the same Behr family. Very cheerful and works well with my LED lighting.

Mine is a peach color, I feel very comfortable when sewing there.

A very, very light yellow. We love our 100+year old tree cover so that side of the house is exceedingly dark. I was concerned about color echo from the walls impacting project colors.

The very, very light yellow fills the bill: no echo, clean looking, maximizes the natural light, not the primary thing going on in the room, etc.
