I painted my sewing room a soft beige, wereas the rest of my home is taupe. I chose the beige because it is light and with an ott lite I can really see true color.

I just had my sewing room painted with Sherwin Williams' "Butter Cookie", which is yellow, but not a light or pale yellow.

I painted mine a mossy green. It's on the medium side of green/gray. I have always loved this color for paint, so when I had the chance, I painted my sewing room that color. It makes me happy everytime I go in.

On the other hand, I am going to paint my bedroom a soft yellow.

On another note, a Tin Lizzie is a long arm quilting machine.

We just bought a house and I get to have a sewing room! I'm painting it a pale lavender.

My sewing room is in the basement, so I painted it a light aqua. It is really bright down there now! It makes it feel less like a basement.

That is what I was thinking and that is what I did. But I agree that a lighter softer color might be better suited for a quilt studio. I used a soft blue with a hint of teal and lots of different cremes and butter colors. A pale yellow would be my second choice and then a soft yellow green.

I'm really enjoying this thread, and truly appreciate the people who are giving the brand and paint color names.

I just painted my new studio a few shades lighter than a yellow daffadil. At first it looked too bright...but by the time the trim was painted white and the bookcases and other furniture was moved in...it looked just right. I'll take pics and post this weekend.

Just be careful and make the room bright and cheerful...a place that lifts your spirits as you walk through the door.

I share a room with my husband's office space, its a green. If I had my choice it would be a soft blue with a slight lilac tint. But ultimately it should be painted a color that makes you happy when you enter your room. So wether you choose a neutral or embrace a color only you could love, Be Happy its all yours.
