    Are you unplugging the foot control from the machine? And put it in slowly so you don't crack the housing for the foot control plug.

    oh thanks so much...i re-looked at the FW and the screw for holding the presser foot, needed to be tightened down giving the foot plate additional fold up room... would not have noticed it this quickly without the pictures...thanks EVER sooooo much..
