Default What did you do on New Years day?

I think that what you do on New Year's day is what you are going to be doing most on the new year. Keeping that in mind I did not clean! I was going to quilt all afternoon but instead my DGD ages 7,5,3 came to visit. What fun! What did you do on New Year's day? Happy New Year to all!!!!!!!!

It was a nice day here. My birthday, and got calls from everyone I wanted to. Puttered around, worked on my current project which I have named "scrappy carpenter star" and then went to our friends' house where we had a "brisket festival" - two kinds - plus traditional southern New Years food - cabbage, black eyed peas, and other goodies and visited.

I was sick in my chair all day. Watched football, and slept. Had an allergy attack from cleaning! ugh

I hope it's not true that what you do on New Year's Day is what you'll be doing most of the year. I caught a miserable cold, had to cancel New Eve plans and slept all day New Year's Day. On the bright side I'm feeling much better today, putting all the holiday stuff away and setting my "sewing room" back up on the dining room table. Cheers!

I spent a good deal of time straightening out my sewing room, getting ready for a great year of quilting!

My sister was visiting, so we went to Joann's and finished rounding out the makings of a quilt. Then we came home and went through my stash to see if we could find one more piece. No luck, but did find some at connecting threads. Yippeee. Had a great time over Christmas and New Years, as my sister and I both love to do the same thing. (Quilt and Embroidery)

With your 'rule', it sounds like a lot of folks will spend most of 2012 either hung over or watching football...or maybe both?

Football here New Years day too...and all day yesterday. Then tonight I will be watching Michigan/Virginia Tech. I AM a football fanatic. So as of now it DOES look like I'll be watching sports this year. Oh and NASCAR will be back...Daytona 500...February 26th and I'm a racing fanatic too. My grandson plays high school football and that starts in August. I WILL find time to do something productive though. LOL

We had the typical PA New Years Day dinner. Pork and sauerkraut.
