I had a whole bunch of 5"sq teddy bears dressed for the winter so I picked 2 other colors to go with him cut it into 5"sq and sewed them in rows then trimed in red. Came out real cute. The red really made it pop.
Lay everything out so you see what you have first

I bookmarked this page for its use of different sized squares:

This is adorable! If you don't want the raw edges, you could iron down a seam allowance all the way around and then topstitch/quilt.

It is a lot to trim BUT you really don't have a choice. I would use a background fabric in between. I just did one like this with white on white as a back ground. Good luck I am sure it will be beautiful. Nancy

Why not do an oversized postage stamp quil or you could do 4 patch, 9 patch, flying geese, large log cabin. Let you imagine run wild.

I love this idea. Especially since you don't need to square the block up until it's finished, so you don't have to trim all those odd size squares. I have the "Tucker Trimmer" to square up half square and quarter square triangles and I use it ALL the time.

How about making 1/2 sq triangle blocks, then trim them to be square after you seperate the two pieces... gosh I hope you understand what I just said.... LOL

I've always loved the "Broken Dishes" pattern... it's an old pattern that makes a fabulous scrappy quilt...

No matter what you decide, it will be so special... have fun!
