Oh I love the idea of both sides having those items on there. Very cute idea. If you decide to do something different, you can maybe use the squares with a border and frame them for the wall above the crib or changing table? Maybe do three of them that way in a colored frame, with the 4th on the back side to incorporate into your label?

Do you have to use all of the squares on one quilt? I like the idea of using the 4 extra for the back, however, you could "save" those squares for another quilt. Maybe make a nap blanket for the child to use at daycare or in the car.

I agree with using the smaller squares of the back. With 2 borders, the quilt will be a nice size for on the couch or in the stroller and would be two sided. This would also make is easy to do some echo quilting and STID. Another advantage is how quickly it would go together!

I's put them in an L-shape with the main panel off center--3 up the side and 1 up top. This won't leave even spacing, so where the extra space is, I would add baby's name or birth info. or some other little something.
