I use a spice bottle that I kept and put them in there. So far I have done nothing with them.

I put mine in an empty child proof medication bottle. When it is full I will discard in recycle bin

I put them in the small pouch that Crystal Light comes in and then toss them in the trash.

I'm not sure they are recyclable. It is my understanding that item need to be about a minimum of a square inch on order to go through the recycling equipment.

i think the most important thing is you don't want to mix them in with any type of food - or remnants of food or packages that had food, or sugar in so animals at landfill don't accidentally ingest them.
the duct tape idea seemed like a good one.

I use mine to hang pictures. What is really neat is that the hole that is left when the needle is removed doesn't need to be "filled in" before you paint a room. The paint just cover it up. Way easier than spackling.

This is good information, I had no idea! Nix the medical waste bin idea!

I keep a few pill bottles and throw them in there. When it rattles a lot when I pick it up I throw it away and start a new one. I don't want the grandbabies getting poked by stray used needles and pins.

I keep an empty water bottle in my sewing room and all bent / used pins and needles end up in that bottle. Since it has a screw on top, I don't have to worry about spilling them, and it will be years before it is filled.

I had never thought about using needles instead of nails. I may start raiding the bottle whenever I need to hang something up.
