What to do question with some UGLY fabric
#11
YES!
In 2003, I took a class from Karen Combs called "Combing Through Your Scraps". It was an online class through Quilt University. My quilt is named "Seventies, Eighties, Nineties and Today" because it contains fabrics from all 4 decades. It is made from 3.5" cut squares and HST's. The fabrics are a combination of my mom's and mine. There are many "pretty" fabrics in the quilt and also some "super uglies" (in my mind).
The 1st photo is a close up of the 1st nine blocks I made to figure out what design I wanted. Nine blocks made up 1/4th of the quilt.
The 2nd photo is the whole quilt top. I later machine quilted it in a clam shell design with white thread and bound it in one of the dark greens.
I enjoy this quilt. Looking at it brings back many happy memories.
I encourage you to try it. Have fun!
