Oh quilters I do all the above and more if I can. Sorry I become very sweaty and uncomfortable when people take rulers out and start to measure 1/4 inches etc unpi ck because no point, perfectionists

I'm one of those dual personality folks. . . Half perfectionist and half anything goes. Just depends on my mood (and if I'm doing blocks for a swap or just for fun). I "prefer" things to match up nicely and at least look like an A+ job but don't sweat the small stuff like thread color, exact seam width, extra seams, and the like. And I just love to use fleece backing and no batting. I've also discovered that fluffy batting hides a multitude of boo boos in your quilting and doesn't require you to quilt really close spacing either.

This made me laugh! I TRY to get it right....measure and cut carefully, sew correctly and carefully, PRESS and not iron, etc.......so you would think it would all come out correctly and square. But that happens HARDLY EVER! Oh, we'll, I'm now in the "close enough" stage of life, " whose motto is DONE IS BETTER. Works just fine.

- I do not pre-wash, ever
- 1/4" seam, what is that?
- glue is my best friend
- I change my needle when it breaks
- I piece with whatever is at hand and on the bobbin
- I rarely, if ever, follow patterns. They all need to be changed
- I make NO mistakes, they are design features
- I buy fabric and batting on sale, and in Walmart and JoAnn's
- I think that imposing rules on artists and quilters is like herding cats - impossible
- My sewing room, my home and my state of mind is always in creative mess/chaos
- I promises to change with every new quilt, and than I don't
- I guilt with thick thread, polyester thread, short staple and long staple cotton, embroidery thread or upholstery thread - anything goes
- my quilts are truly one of a kind made to be used and loved. They are reflection of me, quirky and far from perfect.
Happy quilting!

I use any brand polyester, cotton wrapped polyester, cotton, old cotton thread, any size - any weight cotton thread in my machines, and while making quilts, with each other throughout the quilt piecing. Any color mixture also, most times my bobbin and top thread do not match either. Some times though when I feel the quilt police breathing down my neck, I only use aurifil, or connecting threads with matching bobbins, but that feeling doesn't last too long, especially when the bobbin runs out.
