So I was telling my brother about all these postings and he said "I hope you said you call your room "The Black Hole". You go in and we never know how long you'll be gone or if you are coming back!

i have a standing desk by the giant window in the living room and most of the time the ironing board is behind me for pressing so i suppose i have a little room of sorts. i love it, I'm in the middle of the action and enjoy long conversations with my kiddos while I'm sewing and I have a nice view of the trees outside. i keep my fabric in my walk-in closet in the bedroom and my notions are in neat bins under my desk.

It's most definitely my stress reliever too: if I'm not chatting with my kids or listening to movies, I've got my headphones on and ignoring everyone. I have a very high volume customer facing job and I get "peopled out" and I need to not be around anyone but my family for days at a time sometimes. Sewing is such a great escape.

My family has dubbed it "The Lair." When the kids no longer needed a play area, I took over the whole finished basement. I have considered doing a dragon appliqué sign.
