What do you do do?
I am organizing my fabric and am down to all the boxes under the bed. Most of the fabric in there was purchased for a specific pattern in mind. What do you do when you have all the fabric for 'something', but don't remember what the pattern is? I am now storing the pattern with the fabric as I buy it -- but I have boxes of fabric and I don't know what I intended it for.
I don't have nearly as many fat quarters as I thought now that they are are sorted and nicely in boxes -- buy OH MY - the kits that I have! I am embarrassed.
I have just made my mom and I mini calendar quilts -- one for each month and I used only fabric from my stash -- so I am proud of that. I took pictures, but now I can't remember how to get them out of the camera -- will post once I figure it out again.

I make a copy of the front page of the pattern that goes in with the fabric for the project. If I don't have all the supplies to finish the project, I make an extra copy of the front page of the pattern to take with me to get other supplies. Can't tell you how many times I have bought a small amount of fabric or notion or tool and can't remember which project it goes with. I found that if I put the pattern with the fabric then I couldn't remember which project it was with.
I too have several kits that are still untouched- AARGH!

I agree with sell it or add to your stash.
Were it I, I'd put each collection together, noting how many fabrics were in it and shelve it with the number showing.
Next time I saw a pattern I really liked, I'd check my stash of collections to see if one was suitable.
Obviously you liked those fabrics together at one time even if you can't remember what for.

Bless your heart! I feel your pain, I also try to put pattern and fabric in container together for the same reason. I was sure I wasn't the only one out there to do the same thing, I've looked thru a book I keep of things" I wanna do some day," figured some out. For the unknowns, I figure I'll either remember some day or just use the fabric in something else. ( Knowing just as soon as I use it, I'll remember the original use for the fabric) Guess we should just be thankful that we are blessed to have a really good stash. Good luck and Happy New Year!

I recently went though the same thing. If I couldn't figure out what pattern I was going to use for decided that I just didn't want to make that pattern, I took the fabric and added it back into my stash. I have already used some of it that way.
