What do you do to get yourself back in the mood to quilt?
#21
When I'm trying to get inspired I hit the blogs and see what other quilters are doing, hop on here and flip through the pictures and tutorials section, or go buy some fabric!!! Generally I have so many things that I want to make or do that I have to stay OFF of sites like this or else I start another project! ;)

Like most other quilters, I usually have a few projects in the works. Sometimes it's as simple as figuring out which part of the process I feel like doing the most. Cleaning/tidying my sewing can be self motivating. Every artist, wether it's quilts, writing, clay, music has lulls in creative energy.

I browse the board and my fabrics.
Sometimes though I focus on cutting, sewing the top, or quilting of several small quilts, all at the same time. Once my finger tips get too sore to quilt, (I can't seem to use a thimble to save my fingers!)then I work on other processes.

Getting a new quilting book, new fabric, a new pattern, or sometimes just getting on here and looking at everyone's posts helps me. You've just had too much snow, ice, and cold weather. That plus the Christmas rush being over effects a lot of us. It just takes a while to get back into it.

LOL I try to not get out of the mood! If I get out of the mood for awhile you can bet on it being a LONG while. At least several weeks if not a couple months! Its hard for me to get back into it after being blah!
