What do you do with outdated fabric?

Our quilting groups here in georgia, make quilts for the vets. We make them and the VFW delivers them to the VA hospital. We also make quilts for the animal shelters. If you don't want to do this I am sure there has to be a quilting group that does donations that would love to have you donate this for their use for charities. I believe you could also itemize and take as a donation on taxes. Please don't just thro them away, we made 39 quilts to give to our new VA clinic in st.marys,georgia in just 3 months time. They need the lap quilts, also think about your nursing homes. hope this helps with ideas. gennie schmudde

My mom was a hugh stasher. When she passed a few years ago all my family said to give her fabric to me. Well I only wanted the vintage fabric and she had some that I am sure was at least forties and maybe thirties. I had no idea what I was going to do with it but knew one of these days I would see a pattern I liked. My daughter saw one in a magazine and told me she liked it. It was using thirties fabric. I made the quilt out of my mom's stash and it turned out beautiful. What a keepsake. Not only did I make it but it was out of grandma's fabric. No fabric is outdated.

Some of stash might be considered outdated but it's nice quality cotton so I'm keeping it. If you really don't like your fabric anymore you always list it for sale. It may just be what someone else has been hunting for...
