I did a red/white pinwheel blocks in center setting four sets together making double pinwheel blocks then I sashed them in the aqua color and then found a floral with both the aqua and red and bordered the quilt in that. Looked fabulous. For my setting squares on sashing I used a dash of red to keep the flow thru the whole thing. i think turned out wonderful. I can't post photo because at home ont hat computer. Sorry

You could also do 9 patch blocks and alternate these with snowball blocks, all set on point and you'd get a gorgeous look. Love your color combination!

Beautiful quilt and pillows. Hopefully the receiver appreciates it. At least they didn't go thru the expense of wedding etc. and then split, your son is much better off with her only getting the quilt. Again, you did a fantastic job on your quilt etc.

    Good Luck

While recovering from my knee surgery I have been deconstructing clothing from the thrift store. For days now I have been looking at this small pile of buttons on my end table and I am fascinated by the way the colors play together. The buttons are red, turquoise and purple. I have a strong feeling there will be a quilt in there somewhere in my future. LOL.

My advice..........be sure to wash them all first. Reds tend to bleed! Be sure to show us a photo when it is completed.

Ahh thank-you Suzy for the compliments on the ensemble and the words of wisdom. DH and I can't say we are disappointed in the break-up .... she is a doctor so that was nice, but though she only treated us with kindness there was just something..... I'm a self-taught advanced beginner quilter have learned much from the boards and You Tube, so your compliment makes me smile...first time posting a picture of one of my quilts.

Wow you have me blushing Ellen! I've never posted one of my quilts before as I'm far from an experienced quilter and always have been intimidated by all the awesome creations of others.... You make me feel like a super-star! Thanks :0)
