Before I found books on tape I listened to all my Randy Travis cds and other country music. Had a tv before I moved but no more--no room in sewing room. I need the background noise to get things done. To me silence is defeafing lol. (grew up the oldest of 8 kids-no such thing as quiet!)

I listen to my Ipod. Mostly Christian music. However, my kids loaded all of their Christian music on my Ipod as well and so sometimes it is a little louder or harder than I would prefer, but the lyrics are all good!!!

Love, love, love audio books, love TCM, love MSNBC, Discovery, History Channel, SyFY, TVland, etc. I grew up with radio dramas and comdies playing while I did homework. The big thrill was doing geometry while The Shadow caught bad guys on Sunday afternoons or the Lux Radio Theater recreated a drama on Thursday (I think it was Thursday night.) I have several tapes of old radio shows and love to hear them again and again. Some people on the board will be old enough to remember radio the way it once was! froggyintexas

Sometimes silence and sometimes classical. I could sew all day to Viennese waltzes!

I think I am like your mother in that I enjoy the quiet. My husband thinks he has to have the TV going the entire time he is awake, so whenever I get a chance for peace, I take it.

I enjoy listening to Pandora. Can listen to my choice of music with a very brief commercial every 15 minutes.

Instrumental bluegrass...the same kind played at my favorite quilt sjop...makes me feel like I'm there surrounded by lovely inspirarional projects and bolts of fabric. Also love Jennifer Chiaverini audiobooks.

I like to listen to the music on my ipod - a mix of country, old rock and roll, bluegrass, songs friends and family have written and/or recorded. For a chnage of pace, I'll pop a movie into the dvd player (almost always a musical) and sometimes I luck out and find a craft or sewing show.
