What do you sew on???

Office Depot has two great tables. They fold but the top is solid and the legs are very sturdy. I bought two of the 48'x24' because my quilt room is my master bedroom. I use one for my Janome Jem Platinum and the other for my ironing board and cutting board. I have my Baby Lock Quest Plus on an old wooden table of the same dimensions. However, I could interchange any of them because they are all very sturdy and do not shake when I work on them. The Office Depot tables were $60 each. They also make a one piece 8 ft. table for $120. Don't get the split top because they wobble.

Have a Janome 11000 and the new Horizon 7700. I sew on a real nice desk that the machine sits down into with drawers and a leaf that pulls out to the side for a serger (I use it for my laptop to transfer designs to the 11000. My basement serves as my sewing area. It's very nice and cold down there and I have cable TV to watch while sewing. Got the sewing credenza on sale at my local dealer. It's not a Koala, but Horn is good too, I think.

I wouldn't mind but I can't stand for very long doing this as it throws my left hip out of whack....aaarrrggghhh!
I've been kicking around ideas with my DH but he isn't up for "building" me what I want. I have one long wall that is 7' that I would like to have a sewing table where I would have room for my quilting machine AND my embroidery machine. I'm not sure what options there are. Tell me what suggestions you have and I'm curious as to what you have to sew and/or quilt on.

I have a 6 foot table where the legs fold up and are also adjustable to 3 diffrent heights. I bought it at BJ'S a couple of years ago. I also have a smaller version of about 4 ft long with the same folding and adjustable legs also bought at BJ'S.

I use a kitchen table, from a thrift store. My DH cut a hole in it, the size of my machinethen took plumbing straps and plywood and built a holder for my machine. So for about $20 (the table was $15) I have a built-in sewing table. I use the other side for my other machine or for a friend to sew on. OR I can clean it off LOL and have lots of room to free-motion quilt.

Use a Pfaff to sew with, nothing fancy, refinished old 4x8 confrence table w/drawers to sew/cut (pile junk up on)also storage underneath, can spin around and do pressing, or fold up iron board to quilt, or if more rooms needed. Took doors off closet, rod out and built shelfs, for fabric, supply items, other old bookcase under window for scraps, books and stuff. When gets too messy, just close the door !!!
This was a long time coming, have sewn on most other named items above. Best part is being able to just walk away if you need to without loosing your place. :)

I have a Horn of America quilting table that I bought ten years ago and still could not do without it--it lowers the machine and I ordered a plastic insert so that everything is level--if your husband is handy have him build a table with a dip in the middle for the machine--I have a Viking 210 (about 20 years old--never been to any shop) still running, a Scandanavia Viking, and after five upgrades I know have a Viking Diamond--I am very licky to have it--I kept upgrading and using the older machine as collateral and now am not going any further--lol--
