I've got a leather office chair. Actually I've got two of them, one in my sewing room and one in my home office. Over time, the padding has gone flat, so I got an old (but good quality) couch cushion, cut the foam in half (sideways) to make it thinner, and covered each with upholstery material.

Now I have some cushy for my tushy!

I have an old office chair wich is broken. It can't go up or down anymore. So after a few hours sewing my back hurts and have to quit sewing at my machine. Then I go down taking some handquilting work with me. It much more comfortable on my sofa. :)

Thanks everyone for the advice. I've already soaked in a hot tub this am and don't think I'll be doing any sewing today. Well, maybe some hand quilting in my lazyboy! I don't think it was from sitting to long....I have a puppy who needs to be watched like a hawk and has me up chasing after her every 10-15minutes, it's a wonder I get anything done. I have a Brookstone gel cushion stuck away somewhere from my days of 4-5 basketball games a week (my kids games, not mine) and it kept me from getting bleacher butt. Time to find that little baby and dig it out!

Marsye.......I am the original "Flat Bottomed Girl" hahaha. When I was a young teenager, I use to pray every night to grow some boobs. Now I wish I'd been thinking about my backside! In hindsight........:)

I use a vanity chair with a pillow on it because a nail sticks up, otherwise I would have a hole in my butt. lol, the pillow makes it real cushy. Lace

Office chair - no arms. It adjusts down for the sewing machine, up for the computer! Works for me.

Hope you get to feeling better.

Most of the time I use my kitchen swivel chair - it's leather and very cushiony. Sometimes I use my computer chair. I like that the height adjusts, but it isn't very cushiony and hurts after awhile. I did see one at Office Depot I'd like...but I haven't gone back for it yet.

Some people recommend a backless exam chair. I don't know how I'd do with a backless chair. They are on eBay pretty reasonable. Here's a link:
