I bought a really comfy office chair at Staples. It's adjustable, and the arms can be easily removed when they are in my way. It sure helps to have a good chair, because I can lean back every once in awhile and rest my back (like when I need to use the seam ripper...again!)

Try to get up & stretch every 30 mins. It really helps.

I have a nicely padded office chair that is adjustable. It works great for me. My DD laughed at what I spent for it. Then she sat in it and wanted one for her computer. When I read your question "What do you sit on " my first thought was " my tush.......what else would I sit on."

I sit on a wooden stool, had 2 office chairs and neither one would go up high enough, this stool works out much better so I can look down on my sewing. I have plenty of padding, but, tush still gets sore, I do get up often.

I sit on a small wooden stool at my sewing machine. I like to sit up very straight, and comfortable chairs make that more difficult. Personal preference!
