What do you think scrappy means?

my problem is that I use my scraps for all kind of things. I share them with my cousin who does not have $ for fabric. My sharing causes me to use from my stash. I love scrap quilts. They are my favorite. I have made quite a few quilts over the years. I have a few "matchy matchy". Most of them are scrappy from new fabric. I am pleased with the result and I think they are all loved in the homes they are in. I have some really old ones that were made by my husbands mother. They are true scrap quilts. I love each one and they are hemmed with prayers. How could I not love one that doesn't fit the discription.

I love a scrappy quilt but until I read this thread I didn't really think about the fact that there may be different types of scrappy quilts.
Your quilt looks just like the "Crumb Quilt" that I'm making. I haven't put the squares together, yet, trying to decide on a sashing color. Aren't they fun to make? What size are your squares?

As a new quilter I feel a scrappy quilt is taking scraps of fabric you have left and stitching pieces randomly together without any sort of traditional design and triming of excess. Just making pieces fit.
Found me it can be left over triangles, strips, circles, squares, etc sewed together.
