SITD & SID = stitch in the ditch (do the quilting where the pieces are sewed together)
FMQ & FM = free motion quilting (quilting with the feed dogs of the machine not moving the fabric through)
FM'D = did free motion quilting
PP = paper pieced (stitched the block together onto a piece of paper with the pattern design printed on it)
SMQ --- don't know that one

SITD (could this be SITP?) If so that is Shakespeare in the Park, a quilt pattern by Judy Martin that a lot are making.
FMQ Free motion quilting - free hand machine quilting
    FM Free motion
    FM'D Free motion-ed
    SID Stitch in the Ditch
    SMQ ? Have no idea!
PP - Paper pieced or paper piecing

This is my interpretation, I could be wrong on some of them.

    MOM-6 and SHayes

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am so grateful for the decoding of the acronyms! I will be much less confused when reading the other posts!

I think there is a master list of these short hands some place. Otherwise, there is a list on the About.com forum page too. It is very confusing when you first start reading the shorthand. I dont have kids so I am not used to things like L8R.

Didn't see SMT there, but it means Slow Motion Thinker.

seriously, maybe SMQ means Sewing Machine Quilting or Slow Motion Quilting?
