I would like to sell a quilt I made last Fall. I kept track of the materials and had it quilted by a lady with a long arm. I had many compliments at an Art Show. When I was finished I had $210.00 in material, batting, backing and quilting. I tried to sell it for $300. Many wanted to buy it, but no one wanted to pay for it. I listed it on eBay and did not sell it there, either. Is this price too high for a king size (102 x 102) quilt? What else could I do to sell it? Any suggestions?

It is probably too high for an ebay sale, but that doesn't mean you should charge any less. Etsy has more buyers that understand the value of quality handmade items. Still, though you might have to list it for a while, before the right buyer comes along. If you list it on etsy, you might also try submitting a good quality photo on craftgawker.com for a little free advertising.

Seems like a good price to me.

No. Not too much...and it's not Let's Make A Deal with your hard work. One day, it will find it's correct owner.

Many smaller quilt shows allow you to enter the quilt with for sale info. You might want to check with guilds in your area for a schedule of shows and enter the quilt. Heck you may win a ribbon for it and that could up the sellability of it.

I think the price is actually too low for all the hard work and the beautiful work you created. The right buyer is waiting for it somewhere.

I certainly would take no less for it than you have priced.
Don't sell yourself short. It takes a lot of time and work to produce a quilt of that quality.

I agree if you've put $210 in materials $300 isn't enough! You've just got to find the right buyer.

There are several pages in this post on pricing quilts for selling them. It has some excellent information in it. I have been following it and just saw your post. Good luck.

Oh my gosh--I'd not sell it for less than about $700--if it's put together well and things match up. It sure looks pretty from the photo. Take your time.
