our local wally fabs suitable for quilting range between $2.50 and $4.96 per yard.

the one my friend couldn't tell from the LQS fab was $2.97 per yard. (that still cracks me up. )

the precuts calculate to somewhere between $4 and $5 per yard.

deco fabs, fleece and wide muslin are more, of course.

30-40 miles south of St. Louis the price is $4.96 per yard for the VIP/Cranston at the only one that still has fabric on the bolt. My closest one only has the pre-cut stuff now.

Our Walmart got rid of the fabric department, although I noticed now they have a section of fat quarters and 1/2 yard cuts in with the scrapbooking stuff.

Several Walmarts close to me still have the fabric dept. Last week the price for the 100% cotton on the quilting fabric wall was $5.96 to 8.96. I can buy fabric online for less than that. Quilt of the Month fabric went up .59 a yard. Warm and Natural batting went from $4.95 to $5.95 and now is $6.95 a yard. I'm sure glad I bought several bolts when it was 50% off at the local WalMart close out.
